Not so long ago, digital referred to our fingers, our remarkable anatomy that helps us count and process digits, the numbers that let humans master the world. In its modern meaning, the digital world reduces fingers to swiping. Fingers open magic windows but cannot shape or feel the worlds they display.

Treat your fingers to a day of artful exercises with tools and materials that will stretch your imagination. Finger paint, of course. Use professional hole punches, specialized scissors, and classic brass fasteners to engineer a shadow dragon. With just your fingers, braid colorful cords. With your finger tips shape Sculpey totems. With 20 finger (yours and a friend's) weave intricate string figures. Polish a mud ball in the Japanese art of Dorodango (泥だんご, lit. Mud dumpling).
